Change is Possible Counselling Services provides structured support for individual’s court mandated to complete specific counselling programs, as well as those voluntarily seeking guidance. Our programs are designed to help clients overcome personal challenges, adopt healthier behaviors, and develop essential life skills. We offer a wide range of services, such as Anger Management, Victim Impact Programs, Intimate Partner Violence Programs, Partner Assault Response (PAR), Anti-Criminal Thinking, Anti-Theft Programs, Addictions Counseling, Domestic Violence and Sex Offender Counseling, Anti-Harassment Training, Parenting Skills Training, as well as Volunteer Work Opportunities.

Anger Management

Partner Assault Response Program (Equivalent)

Change is Possible Counselling Services’ Partner Assault Response (PAR) Program helps individuals address aggressive behaviors and domestic violence through a structured, comprehensive approach. The program covers physical, emotional, and financial abuse, exploring power dynamics, substance abuse, and the impact on victims and families. Participants learn to identify triggers, challenge harmful beliefs, and build skills in respectful communication, conflict resolution, and anger management. Anti-Criminal Thinking & Anti-Theft Programs

The Anti-Criminal Thinking & Anti-Theft Program at Change is Possible Counselling Services helps individuals involved in the criminal justice system address the thought patterns that contribute to criminal behavior. Led by experienced clinicians, the program focuses on identifying and challenging harmful beliefs, promoting personal accountability, and developing healthier coping strategies. Participants learn to recognize common cognitive distortions, manage impulses, and build the skills needed to prevent future criminal behavior. The program also covers anger management, emotional regulation, and theft prevention strategies, empowering individuals to make positive changes and reduce the risk of reoffending.

Addictions Counselling
 

At Change is Possible Counselling Services, we provide specialized support for a range of addictions, including substance abuse, alcohol dependency, opioid misuse, and impaired driving issues. Our court-ordered counseling program combines assessment, personalized treatment plans, and both individual and group counseling, with a focus on sustainable recovery and reducing reoffending. For clients facing both mental health and addiction challenges, our Concurrent Disorders Service offers integrated support. We also provide targeted programs for gambling and opioid addiction, utilizing harm reduction and tailored interventions. Our goal is to help clients build a healthier, more resilient future.

At Change is Possible Counselling Services, we offer monthly 4-week, 8-hour group sessions for Anger Management, Partner Assault Response (PAR), and Substance Abuse. These educational groups use an evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model to help individuals address control issues and behavior management. Led by experienced clinicians, our groups provide a supportive environment where participants learn practical strategies for lasting change and healthier behaviors. Community Justice Programs
 

Our Community Justice Programs includes • Healthy Relationships Program: Covers key topics such as Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), communication strategies, stress management, and emotional regulation to foster healthier interpersonal connections. • Theft Intervention Program (TIP): Designed to help individuals recognize and address patterns of theft and dishonest behavior, promoting long-term positive change. • Road Rage Program: Focuses on reducing aggressive driving behaviors and fostering a calmer, more mindful approach to road safety. • Victim Impact Program (VIP): Raises awareness about the effects of harmful actions on victims, families, and the community, encouraging accountability and empathy. • Restorative Parenting (RP): Provides parents with tools for positive parenting, conflict resolution, and building stronger family dynamics. • Volunteer Program: Assists individuals in completing court-ordered volunteer hours through meaningful and community-focused opportunities. Are sessions confidential?

We place the highest priority on your privacy and confidentiality. Your personal information and identity will always be protected and will not be shared without your explicit consent. Please note that, in accordance with Ontario law, there are specific circumstances where confidentiality may be legally waived. These exceptions will be thoroughly explained to you during your initial session, ensuring complete transparency.

How can psychotherapy help me?

Psychotherapy provides a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your feelings and experiences. Through a supportive therapeutic relationship, a psychotherapist helps you overcome emotional barriers and develop effective coping strategies for life’s challenges.

How frequent should sessions be?

Typically, weekly sessions are recommended, especially at the start, to ensure consistent progress. The frequency may vary based on factors such as the severity and urgency of the issue, your availability, and your budget. As you make progress, the need for frequent sessions may decrease.

Do you offer a free initial consultation?

Absolutely! You can contact us to book a free 15-minute phone call.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not offer direct billing. However, many insurance plans cover psychotherapy. Please check with your insurance provider to see if you're covered for our services.

Do you offer court mandated counselling?

Yes, Change is Possible Counselling Services offers court-mandated counselling for individuals facing criminal charges or convictions. Our programs focus on rehabilitation and reducing the risk of reoffending. Upon successful completion, we provide a report and/or Certificate of Completion, which can be submitted to the court.
